Engineering disclaimer
austenite.org is a tool. It is not professional engineering advice, and using it does not transfer engineering responsibility from you (the user) to us (the platform).
What we provide
Calculation engines, Bayesian posteriors, and stamped-PDF generation for ASME / API / NACE compliance workflows. Every output cites its source code-clause and its calibration corpus.
What we do NOT provide
- Professional engineering advice. The platform produces tooling output; a licensed P.E. or Chartered Engineer is the only entity that can stamp a calculation and bear the legal responsibility.
- Regulatory acceptance. The stamped-PDF format is technically rigorous, but no AHJ has formally accepted it as primary evidence. Always verify with your local regulator.
- Warranty. The platform is provided AS-IS, with no warranty of fitness for any particular purpose.
- Liability for use. You agree that any loss, damage, or claim arising from use of the platform is your own responsibility.
Bayesian posteriors are calibrated against literature
Each posterior on the platform was fit by the author against published primary-literature data. The platform’s confidence badge tells you when a calculation is operating within or outside its calibration envelope — but ultimately the user must judge whether the published corpus represents their specific asset.
Why we ship gaps publicly
The Coverage page enumerates every gap we know about, in plain English, with citations to follow-up work. Honesty about limitations is a feature: it lets you defend the calls we DO ship and avoid the ones we don’t.
